The sword and crown are objects steeped in underlying meaning. They're not just a weapon and a fancy hat- they're symbols of power, intelligence and authority. For December, they mean even more, as these were the objects his father wore/had with him at all times during his rule.

I do always have a good time when I get to draw a sword, even if it is sheathed. In some coronations, a scepter and/or orb are also given. This was a bit later than the general time period I'm going for in Cealdian. Ryn is still very much a warrior culture, and to the people a sword is the most powerful of symbols.

The forum's been feeling a little bit abandoned lately. Please use it! That's where you guys can speculate about the comic, ask questions, post your own stuff. Heck, you can talk about your cat Fluffy. Would it help if I started a comic discussion thread each week for the new pages? The comment box is good for quick notes but not really suited for any real indepth discussion. (also it's been driving me insane lately *twitch*) The comic is still fairly new, so I understand it'll take a while as I set up the plot before any real discussion is triggered, eh? But still, if you have anything to bring up, that's a good place to do it.

Anywhoo, in other news, the vote incentive today is a bunch of character sketches from the past few weeks: a less-than-sane Joel, a November and a General Torr (from chapter three). I wanna thank everyone who has been voting, you guys are so great!
